The Communion of Saints

The Communion of Saints
I hope there's room for me.

Welcome all - especially Mancunians.

Hello anybody lost in the blogosphere. Welcome to the ruminations of a politically left of centre, Man United supporting, blues loving, history-fixated, Catholic wanderer. Be warned, I am a bit of a curmudgeon.

Following my post on Parishes, I have decided to have a posting of the names of Traditional Anglican Communion clergy who are now members of the Ordinariates, whether lay or clerical. Please excuse the lack of titles, it is not meant in an offensive way, they are all Reverends to me.

  1. A few names are missing (this is from my own informed account of the receptions and nullae ostae):

The 6 British Columbian ACCC Priests were indeed received. They are:
Michael Birch (Blessed JH Newman Victoria BC) [Former rector at St John the Evangelist Victoria]
Don Malins (Blessed JH Newman Victoria BC) [Former clergy at St John the Evangelist Victoria]
Sean Henry (Blessed JH Newman Victoria BC) [Former clergy at St John the Evangelist Victoria]
Ralph Braunstein (Blessed JH Newman Victoria BC) [Former clergy at St John the Evangelist Victoria]
Peter Switzer (Blessed JH Newman Victoria BC) [Former clergy at St John the Evangelist Victoria]
Edward Gale (Blessed JH Newman Victoria BC) [Former rector of Our Lady and St Martin Mayne Island]

Beside Fr. O’Rourke, two other Calgary former ACCC rectors were received at St John the Evangelist ordinariate parish:
Tony Ward (received at St John the Evangelist Calgary AB) [Former rector of All Saints Calgary]
Ernest Skulblics (received at St John the Evangelist Calgary AB) [Former rector of All Saints Calgary - Reconciled Catholic]

In Eastern Canada, Fr. Chris LePage has apparently been received, but the whereabout of his parish is unknown.

Two Priests have been received whithout pursuing Catholic Priesthood:
Fr. Raymond Ball (St Edmund Waterloo ON), who wished to retire, and Charles Warner (Holy Cross Sydney-Forks NS), who was rejected for ordination being a reconciled Catholic (therefore I suppose he was reconciled as a member of the diocese of Antigonish)

A few names are also missing in the US:

Fr. Nicholas Marziani (Ordinariate in Florida), while ordained in TEC, was incardinated in the ACA at the time he renounced his Anglican orders. He is now an ordinariate Priest.

Those were received in the Church:
R: Dennie Eiseleáµ  (St Augustine of Canterbury Oceanside CA)
R: John Worgul† (Christ the King Towson & Holy Trinity lay institute)

Those have received a nulla osta, some have not been received in the Church yet:
N.O.: Lowell Andrews (Holy Nativity Payson AZ)
N.O.: Randall Fogle (Christ our Saviour Denison TX)
N.O.: William Holidays (Incarnation Orlando FL)
N.O.: Richard Bugyi-Sutterᵋ (Colorado Ordinariate Society CO)
N.O.: Samuel Edwards* (The Pondering Heart Apostolate) [former rector of St Peter Waynesville NC]
    N.O.: Gerald Sherbourne (Military chaplain)

And Canon Tom Cairns has been received in his local parish, I don’t know if as a member of the ordinariate or of his local diocese.

NB: the rector of Holy Cross Ocala is Fr. Mark Siegel. Fr Dean Steward is rector at St Luke’s in The Villages. I don’t know if any of them were received in the Church.

Apparently those in reception process in the US are:
Mark Siegel (Holy Cross Ocala FL)
Pedro Toledo (Rey de Gloria Miami Spring FL)
Richmond Bridge (Our Lady of the Angels New Smyrna Beach FL)
Dean Steward (St Luke The Village FL)
Robert Scheiblhofer* (St Barnabas Omaha NE [parish left TEC in 2009])
James Blacker‡ (St Edmund of Canterbury Fredericksburg VA)
    Joseph Reffner (Military chaplain)

  3. Thanks for this, I have updated where they have been received. As for Mark Siegel, I know he was at Holy Cross, Ocala, but my most recent info was that it was now under Dean Steward's care and he (Dean Steward)himself has blogged of the reception of this community along with the Cathdral of the Incarnation.
St Luke the Village was served from Christ Anglican Church which remains in the ACA under Bishop Marsh and has a Fr John Jacobs named as its new vicar. I am informed that St Luke the Village has now been received as well.

  4. Could you provide the link where Fr. Steward blogs? I wasn't aware of him having an internet presence. Thank you:)

  5. Deepest apologies Don Henri,

I meant to say 'commented' rather than 'blogged', I was referring to s post he made on Virtueonline a few days ago when he commented:

"Greetings friends from sunny Florida. There seems to be some confusion about the nature of Anglican Ordinariates which are being started up in America, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. The members of Holy Cross were just admitted into the Ordinariate in Orlando along with the members of the Church of the Incarnation. Parishoners will be fully Catholic and richly Anglican. This may be hard for some to understand. Yet this is reality, we are now united with more than a billion Catholics around the world. We at Holy Cross will still be enjoying a beautiful Anglican liturgy this Sunday, with the blessings of Monsignor Steenson. This will be Morning Prayer according to the Book of Common Prayer (1928). As St. Paul used to say, "be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace..." (II Corinthians 13:11)
Yours in Christ's love, Dean Steward"

  6. Don't forget that 4 were ordained in Melbourne for the Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross on the 8th of September: Fathers James Grant, Neil Fryer, Christopher Seton and Ramsay Williams.

  7. Thanks Joshua, but these four gentlemen weren't members of the ACCA-TAC but came across from the Anglican Church of Australia. I am presently posting about the former TAC clergy. I will create one for all clergy later.

  8. Please add Lewis Berry.

He was received Easter at Our Lady of Walsingham in Houston and has chosen to remain lay.

  10. Hello! You can now add Holy Nativity Payson and its rector Fr. Lowell Andrews to your list, they will be received the 16th of december (cf. ordinariate Facebook page).
And things seems to have cleared for Mr. Warner who is now a seminarian of the CSP ordinariate... Finally is was issue a nulla osta apparently.

    + PAX et BONUM
